Goals

To obtain a modeling and/or texturing position within a growth-oriented, progressive company. I want to apply my skills to an environment where they will make a significant impact on character and environment development for items incorporated into video games, feature films, and/or commercials. The ideal atmosphere would be entrepreneurial and team oriented, especially one in which new ideas are welcome and decision-making required.

Environment Artist

Responsibilities: Model and assemble detailed levels and cinematics for both organic and architectural environments and props. Work closely with texture and lighting artists to achieve and enhance desired look and feel throughout the game. Collaborate with level designers and art directors to maintain and enhance gameplay and storytelling elements, and meet strict deadlines. Manage assets to fit level memory, design, and frame rate limits. Create detailed written and visual outsourcing instructions and give feedback. (March 2011 - Present)

Responsibilities: Modeling, texturing, animating and lighting of organic and architectural environments and props. Collaborated with art director and level designers to develop, implement and refine art style, game play, and story telling. Supervised junior artists in maintaining art style, a cohesive look and feel throughout the game, and deadlines. (April 2009 - March 2011)

Advanced proficiency training in Maya, involving modeling, texturing, UV mapping, rigging and animation. Two focused years of training in the character development pipeline. Specialty proficiency also obtained in Photoshop, Aftereffects, and Premier. Traditional training including figure drawing, illustration, visual development and animation.

Special Projects
Judobaby, San Francisco, CA.
Internship. 3D modeler responsible for translating game level and character orthographic drawings into 3D models; with Maya for use in the design development, prototype, and subsequent game pitch for a new animated 3D video game. Tasks including, but not limited to: modeling, UV mapping, texturing, rigging and animation. Additionally, responsible for providing artistic feedback to the development team that provides a stylized, yet solid consistency to the look and development of the game. (August 2007 – May 2008)

Nickelodeon Studios, Burbank, CA.
Aletta Out of Water, Animated Short Film
Responsible for the modeling, texturing and animation of 3D objects to be incorporated into a traditional 2D animation short. Obtained training in toon shaders and vector rendering to achieve a traditional desired look. (August 2007 – May 2008)

Bachelor Fine Arts Senior Group Project
Solely responsible for modeling, texturing and animating complete background and props for fifteen-second commercial aimed at inspirational advertising of the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Shady Lanes Project
Member of a team that designed an educational commercial addressing water pollution. Personal responsibilities included modeling, texturing and animating the feature truck of the film.

Society of Illustrators Student Competition (March 2008 – May 2008)
Illustrated piece selected in an intense competition amongst student illustrators nationwide. The piece will be displayed in the Society of Illustrators Gallery in New York City from April 30th to May 16th 2008.
